FS Insider: FactSuite's #WomenInSuit Campaign Celebrates Women's Contributions & Achievements at Work

“In countries at all levels of economic development, a woman’s personal preference is the key factor in determining whether she will seek out and engage in paid work. However, this preference is heavily influenced by socio-economic constraints and pressure to conform to traditional gender roles.”

The battle for gender equality is far from over, and there is still a long way to go. Balancing paid work and family responsibilities is one of the most significant next barriers for women who have made it to the workforce, and it continues to be a major obstacle to achieving gender equity in its truest sense. The unequal distribution of unpaid care work, which still falls disproportionately on women, leaves them struggling to meet the demands of their jobs and family lives.

These challenges represent untold stories of perseverance and achievement that often go unrecognized. To the women who navigate long maternity gaps, confront obstacles in returning to work, shoulder the responsibility of raising the next generation, and yet strive to keep up with their male counterparts, your strength and resilience deserve greater recognition and appreciation.

In December 2022, FactSuite launched a distinguished campaign with the purpose of recognizing the extraordinary women in our workforce who have toiled and achieved great success- this was not only a tribute to their contributions but a celebration of their significant impact that has shaped FactSuite over the course of a decade, forging it into what it stands as today.

To provide a backdrop, FactSuite has always prioritized maintaining a healthy gender ratio in the workplace, and we have made conscious efforts to sustain this balance. However, we acknowledge that a gender-balanced workforce is not merely achieved through proportional hiring. It requires visionary leadership to create an environment that fosters the growth and success of women. We are grateful for the exceptional leaders who have helped build the backbone of the company and have enabled us to become the institution that strives to support women at work in the best possible ways.

To ensure that women can not only join our workforce but also thrive, we have put in place several measures, including adequate flexibility, learning resources, support at maternity and other benefits. However, the question remained: how can we make it even better? In the aftermath of the 2020 pandemic, when most workplaces were planning to return to in-office operations, FactSuite took a daring step and transitioned to a completely remote working model. Although remote work was relatively new at the time, the benefits were undeniable.

We invested in better technology, acquired resources, provided training, and built a robust infrastructure to support our remote operating model. The results have been astounding. By creating a pan-Indian workforce that collaborates seamlessly and works productively, we have bridged the gender gap at our workplace. More women are now part of our workforce, able to achieve the perfect balance between their professional and personal commitments.

Our journey since then has been remarkable. We have witnessed our women employees grow personally and professionally, and we attribute our success as a company to the inclusive and accessible work environment that we have created, one that transcends gender disparities. We are proud of our women employees and their contributions, and we remain committed to building a gender-balanced workforce that fosters the growth and success of all our employees.

The #WomenInSuit at FactSuite campaign epitomizes our vision for our workforce, a vision that revolves around empowering women and providing them with the necessary support to achieve an optimal work-life balance. It fills us with immense pride to witness these remarkable women accomplishing great things, conquering small challenges every day, and striving for excellence in their respective domains.

For FactSuite, this campaign holds a special significance as we have witnessed each of these women craft their unique success stories with us. We have welcomed incredibly talented individuals on board, some of whom were held back from restarting their careers due to career gaps. We have also had the pleasure of working alongside colleagues who returned to work after a maternity break. At FactSuite, we take pride in not discriminating against candidates based on career gaps, recognizing the immense contributions that women make to society every time they take a break to nurture and raise a child.

Our commitment to empowering women does not end with hiring. We go the extra mile to ensure that returning female employees have the necessary resources to readjust to the work environment and keep up with the latest trends. We provide access to knowledge training opportunities and offer the time required for them to regain their pace. The results have been remarkable, with some of the strongest women becoming valuable members of Team FactSuite and some of the smartest minds propelling us forward towards our ambitious goals.

We made it a priority to personally speak to each woman whose story we featured in the #WomenInSuit at FactSuite campaign. These interactions were not only crucial in creating these stories that are immensely uplifting and inspiring for other women to read, but they also provided us with invaluable insights into the challenges contemporary women still juggle with and battle against.

#WomenInSuit at FactSuite is a platform that amplifies the voices of strong, talented, and resilient women like these who have bravely shared their stories with the world. FactSuite celebrates and encourages these women to continue to embody strength and to break down barriers in their pursuit. We hope their stories resonate and inspire others to do the same.
